This two-day training works with San Francisco Department of Public Health-funded HIV prevention providers to build client-centered counseling prevention counseling skills. It reviews behavior change theory, increases HIV knowledge to enhance the ability to assess a client's HIV-related concerns, and helps participants develop skills to aid clients in creating meaningful and achievable risk reduction steps.
This training is recommended for risk reduction counselors, prevention case managers, outreach workers, and health educators working or volunteering for San Francisco agencies that are funded to provide Health Education and Risk Reduction services and Prevention with Positives services.
